Getting a dog is like bringing a new family member into your life. It's sure to fill your home with love, but it's also a responsibility. Before bringing a dog home, consider the time, expense, and commitment that dog ownership demands, not to mention that most dogs live 10-15 years, so getting a dog requires a serious long-term commitment!
*****At BFR we will now add energy types to each dog after being evaluated. Please pick the energy that closely matches your own and your family's. If you pick a dog just on cuteness factor, chances are you will not fulfill your dog's energy level and will run into problems!
TYPES OF ENERGY:
VERY HIGH ENERGY: This dog is constantly on the move, from morning to nightfall. This dog can walk or run for hours on end and still have energy to burn.
HIGH ENERGY: Very athletic, this dog is very active, but will tire normally and sleep at the end of the day.
MEDIUM ENERGY: This dog is normal in physical activities, and sometimes vigorous ones, but balances them with equal periods of rest.
LOW ENERGY: Your couch potato doggie. This dog prefers to rest to activity. A couple of regular walks a day will be plenty of exercise for him/her.

*****ADOPTION PENDING
Energy Level: Medium
Name: Goliath
Age: 6 years old
Breed: Saint Bernard (Working Group)
Neutered: Yes!
Shots: Needs rabies
About Goliath:
Get's Along with:
Dogs: With proper introduction, Yes!
Kids: Yes! But best with kids older than 7 or 8 as they are big dogs and could knock them over.
Cats: Yes! As long as cat does not freak out! I have dog friendly cats, and they won't run if a dog comes after them. Goliath tried to give chase, but my cat stayed put. Goliath is just curious about them, but will ignore after a while.
Drool meter is very high on this canine. If you don't like drool and you don't like lots of fur on your clothing, a Saint Bernard is not for you!!! Goliath is a big boy weighing in at over 200 lbs. Goliath will need a strong person to take him on walks, as he does get excited with other dogs barking and will pull ahead, but does walk nicely on a leash. Goliath has some hip issues, that we are hoping to resolve with glucosamine and vitamin C. Would like to find a home for him that will allow him to be an inside/outside dog. He is very much bonded to his sister and will cry without her. Both Goliath and his sister Emma are very sweet dogs, looking for their forever home. Goliath is potty trained, and just loves to be loved! The epitamy of Gentle Giant!!!Would like to adopt together if possible! Please email Crue13@aol.com for an adoption application!

Energy Level: High
Name: Emma
Age: 5 years old
Breed: Saint Bernard (Working Group)
Spayed: Yes!
Shots: Needs rabies
About Emma:
Get's Along with:
Dogs: With proper introduction, Yes!
Kids: Yes! But best with kids 7 years or older, as she could knock them down
Cats: Yes, but her higher energy could cause a cat to run, and she will chase after the cat. However once caught up to the cat, she will just smell it and then ignore them. After a simple, "No!" She will happily run back to you!
Drool meter is ultra high on this girl! If you don't like drool or fur on your clothing, a Saint Bernard is not for you! Emma is a Saint that is a lot more energetic and will require some regular walks, she does have hip issues as well, and we are hoping to resolve it with glucosamine and vitamin C. Her higher energy can sometimes cause a spark between other dogs, so she would do best with submissive dogs. She is all play and some dogs just don't like it. We would like for Emma to go to a home where she can learn to be an inside dog. Emma is very much bonded to her brother, and we would like to adopt Emma out with her brother Goliath if possible. Emma is potty trained, and wants to very much please her caretaker! She is just all smiles all the time! If you are interested, please email at Crue13@aol.com for an adoption application.
